The Ohio Association of Child Care Providers represents the Directors and Business Owners of over 600 licensed child care centers. Our members educate and care for over 50,000 of Ohio's youngest citizens, including private pay and publicly funded children, who are served in faith-based, for-profit and non-profit programs.
The OACCP organization as been a driving force as it pertains to improvements in the area of licensing and SUTQ regulations, working with initiatives the Department of Job and Family Services may institute, and then ensuring that the voices of Ohio providers are heard through participation in meetings throughout the Biennium Budget and/or regulatory processes.
All members of the board and committees are volunteers. During the past ten years, OACCP has ensured that a core group of providers make time and are willing to work with legislators and staff from ODJFS on regulatory issues.
What we offer our members:
We provide insight on latest trends for success in the business of early childhood programming, including 'Best Practices,' Ohio's licensing, and SUTQ regulations. Our members work with ODJFS, ODE, ODMH and the Governor's Early Childhood Advisory Council. When it comes to Ohio's legislative decisions we are the first to know. We send out web communication as soon as the information comes in.
We offer our members an Annual Meeting open to general membership and non-membership in November of each year. We have guest speakers on Early Childhood Legislation, and we recap our accomplishments of the past year. We also open the floor to discussions.
We offer those members who would like to be actively involved on our committees the opportunity to do so at our meetings in February, May, and August.
We offer members access to our community database for meaningful, relevant communications.
